To meet our missions of peace, love, and service, Fairmount Church works with a wide range of organizations, including....
The United Church of Christ (UCC),
regional & national offices:
~
Kansas Oklahoma Conference
The "K-O Conference," headquartered in Wichita, is the regional association of United Church of Christ congregations in Kansas and Oklahoma.
~
National Conference - General Synod
The "National Conference" is the association of United Church of Christ congregations throughout the United States.
While UCC churches are all independent, the National Conference serves as a "congregation of congregations", coming together to act as a larger, stronger, more-diverse group, pooling the wisdom, insight, vision and capabilities of hundreds of UCC churches, to support and strengthen their common efforts.
The National Conference provides congregations with guidance -- not control -- on matters of spiritual faith, worship practices, charitable programs, public leadership, and church administration. This is also the national -- and global -- voice of the United Church of Christ.
Inter-Faith Ministries
[of Wichita]
Inter-Faith Ministries is a 120-year-old Wichita-area association of religious congregations from various faiths (formerly the Wichita Council of Churches).
For many of Wichita's leading churches, Inter-Faith is their main way of providing civic leadership, and charity/outreach services in the community.
Inter-Faith provides social justice leadership and civic action, and develops understanding and fellowship between various religions and among diverse people. The group unites to serve the community, including
GoZones
neighborhood revitalization and after-school & summer programs for youth, and through aid to the disadvantaged, including homeless shelters.

Peace & Social Justice Center
of South Central Kansas
The Center provides a forum -- and an activist organizing facility -- for people, organizations and congregations seeking to improve the world by working for peace and social justice. The Center sponsors periodic public education and discussion forums on global issues, and conducts a TV talk show on peace and social justice issues, on broadcast-TV Channel 49.
Church World Service
One of the world's leading faith-based charities,
Church World Service is the relief, development, and refugee assistance ministry of 35 Protestant, Orthodox, and Anglican denominations in the United States. Working in partnership with indigenous organizations in more than 80 countries, CWS works worldwide to meet human needs and foster self-reliance for all whose way is hard.
CWS is part of the ecumenical family of the
National Council of Churches USA.
Esperanza International
Esperanza connects North American people with the poor of Latin America.
Fairmount Church is among the dozens of U.S. churches whose Esperanza volunteers travel to Tijuana, Mexico, annually, to work side-by-side with local residents in poor neighborhoods -- building schools, homes and other key neighborhood facilities. The program provides extraordinary cross-cultural, educational, social and spiritual experiences for all participants.
Wichita State University
WSU began over 100 years ago as Fairmount College -- a project of the Congregational Church (now a part of the UCC). The college's early leaders -- including Morrison and Isely, for whom WSU's Morrisson Hall (the WSU Administration Building), and Wichita's Isely Elementary School, are named -- were part of the congregation of Fairmount Church. Today, Fairmount Church -- which is one block south of the University's main entrance on 17th Street -- is actively engaged with neighboring WSU -- and its students and faculty -- in a wide range of civic and spiritual activity. We do this in keeping with the Congregational tradition of supporting education, and encouraging both intellectual and spiritual growth.
